Determination of Arsenic in naphtha with D2 Background Corrected Graphite Furnace AAS

Arsenic is a critical element for petroleum plant that have to control during the process. The content of heavy metals was found in petroleum product such as gasoline, diesel and naphtha is related to poor performance and reduced stability of this product.

Abstract

Motivation:

Arsenic is a critical element for petroleum plant that have to control during the process. The content of heavy metals was found in petroleum product such as gasoline, diesel and naphtha is related to poor performance and reduced stability of this product.

Experimental:

The measurements were performed by using graphite furnace AAS technique with single beam mode with deuterium (D2) background correction at wavelength 197.3 nm. A palladium-magnesium solution was celled matrix modifier is added to the sample for thermal stabilization of arsenic during the decomposition step that proceeds atomization. The standard calibration curve was diluted automatically by using Autosampler.
